As the House of Representatives considers a bill to penalize price gouging at the pump, the White House has come out with a statement that it will veto any such measure.

So, will the Republicans break with Bush and override such a veto? The average American attention span will not remember this bill come election day, so they probably could back the president on this one.

The extent to which the administration is big oil's lap dog continues to amaze me. The Administration could not have done more over the past six years to destabilize the oil market than they have. I'm starting to wonder at this point is Chavez isn't telling the truth about U.S. efforts to topple his regime. It's not paranoia if they really are after you.
