Iran Arming Taliban Fighters
Further evidence has come to light that Iran is indeed fighting a proxy war against the United States and Britain in Afghanistan (and, no doubt, Iraq as well).
Intercepted Iranian shipments of "heavy arms, C4 explosives, and roadside bombs" have come into NATO hands in Afghanistan.
What is surprising is that when the Taliban were in power, Iran did not get along with them. This has caught the intelligence community by surprise. Of course, the saying "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" comes from the middle east, so I'm not sure exactly where the surprise lies.
Analysis done by the coalition fighting in Afghanistan believes that the arms are the product of high-level direction within the Iranian regime and not low level corruption.
